Coal Emissions Reduction Technology (CERT) Cutting Edge Air/Coal Systems Decrease of NOx Emission with Minimal Affect on CO and LOI Production
The Clyde Bergemann Anthony Ross Combustion Emissions Reduction Technology (CERT) is the cutting edge combustion technology for NOx emission reduction in pulverized coal fired units. It utilizes staged low pressure faster mixing over-fire air to achieve a more uniform mixing in the furnace and to improve combustion performance. The Air System utilizes a patented inboard and outboard design to introduce dual swirl inside the furnace to reduce NOx emission with minimal impact on CO and LOI production. The strategic placement of the inboard and outboard patented CERT system design results in larger utilization of furnace volume to enhance the mixing, increase in residence time for combustion and a net increase in furnace heat transfer rate as shown in the coal particle trajectory comparison flow diagram.
Enhanced mixing by Clyde Bergemann Anthony-Ross’ CERT Air System in the over-fire zone allows for deep staging of the combustion air in the burner zone to significantly reduce NOx emission. Clyde Bergemann Anthony-Ross Computational Fluid Dynamics modeling of each boiler will provide a customized location of the over-fire air ports to optimize combustion and reduce emission.
The Clyde Bergemann Anthony Ross Stacked Air System has a proven track record with over 30 installations in the challenging Pulp and Paper industry for Chemical Recovery Units. Extensive experience coupled with customized application will guarantee most advanced in-furnace technology to reduce emission and increase pulverized coal fired boiler performance. The result is a customized air system with the highest benefit to cost ratio for the customer.
