Enhanced mixing by the Clyde Bergemann Anthony Ross Stacked Air System in the over-fire zone creates faster combustion in the lower furnace. The more effective use of the entire furnace cross section results in increased heat transfer. The net result is a hotter lower furnace and cooler upper furnace — the ideal situation (see below). In addition to all the other benefits, this reduces unburned carbon in the bottom ash and flyash, reduced CO/combustibles in the flue gas and reduced excess. This all contributed to the increased thermal efficiency. Clyde Bergemann Anthony Ross Computational Fluid Dynamics modeling of each boiler will provide a customized location of the over-fire air ports to optimize combustion and reduce emissions.
