Non condensable gasses (NCGs) are a safety and environmental hazard in the pulp mill. These gasses can be explosive at certain concentrations and exposure to the fumes is hazardous even at lower levels. Incineration is an effective means of treatment but must be done safely.
Anthony-Ross Company is an industry leader in recovery boiler NCG incineration.
Anthony-Ross engineers can design an NCG incineration system for your recovery boiler to take advantage of the high combustion temperatures, boiler volume and natural sulfur scrubbing that makes the recovery boiler an ideal incinerator for NCGs. Completely sealed port cleaners and dampers eliminate the need for operators to manually clean the ports, minimizing the risk of exposure to odorous gasses.
Anthony-Ross has installed NCG incineration systems, including ducting, nozzles, port openings, expansion joints, dampers and cleaners, at mills all over the world. All are designed in accordance with BLRBAC recommendations. We can work with the existing combustion air system, either at the secondary or tertiary levels. Or, we can design a new combustion air system using our Anthony-Ross Stacked Air System™ (patent pending) technology. Improved mixing and combustion make the Stacked Air System particularly suitable for incinerating NCGs.
