The Anthony-Ross Company Internship/Trainee Program (ARIT) allows students and recent graduates to get hands-on experience working in a variety of Anthony-Ross divisions, including: research and product development, project management/engineering, customer service/aftermarket, sales, marketing and operations. You will be supported by experienced colleagues in an open and team-oriented working environment.
Desired intern candidate profile:
- High school graduate currently studying or recently graduated from an accredited university or college in the United States or abroad (or comparable degree/diploma).
- Good command of English language in oral and written form.
- Good PC knowledge.
- Self-starting individual with an interest in, and a dynamic aptitude for, learning about the pulp and paper industry, specifically the Kraft recovery process and how to improve it.
- Individual must have excellent and proven communications and team skills, and be able to verbalize and record complex technical and non-technical issues with confidence.
- Interest in expanding horizons, with a critical ability to find opportunities outside the obvious.
- Ideal candidate will be interested in moving to a full time applications engineering or sales position in the medium term.
- Strong skills in process engineering and thermodynamics.
- Proven thermodynamic and CFD modeling experience a plus.
Job description and requirements:
- Primary responsibility is to support new system start-ups on recovery boilers with the ultimate goal of obtaining high quality data to develop a long-term justification of the project.
- Other responsibilities may include supporting installation and assisting in design development of the systems.
- Each deployment may involve a period of 2-3 months, depending on complexity.
- Must be willing to work under challenging chemical recovery plant conditions.
- As a representative of the company with the client, must maintain the high standards of a company employee.
- Must communicate goals and execute the goals under guidance from his/her superior.
- Must assist in the development of the applications department to facilitate consistent customer satisfaction and long-term growth for the company’s success.
