Based on our proven Automatic Port Cleaner design, the Clyde Bergemann Anthony-Ross Company patent-pending Smelt Spout Cleaner (SSC) can help you address one of the most challenging aspects of your recovery boiler operation. During steady state operation (not start-up), the SSC head cleans the full spout opening and trough every cycle, typically every 18 to 24 minutes.
Benefits:
- Improves personnel safety by reducing chance of operator injuries that may occur during manual cleaning of plugged spouts.
- Improves personnel effectiveness by minimizing operator time on the spout deck.
- Improves process stability by maintaining more consistent smelt flow and minimizing bed buildup behind each spout.
Operation:
- Control Sequence
- Local control by timers makes set-up easy
- Can be integrated with existing PLC
- Can be very quickly removed at any time for access to the spout
- At rest, the cleaning tip is out of the smelt flow
- Manual cleaning is still required for the dog house and shatter jet, but those tasks are significantly reduced with a consistently clean spout opening, more consistent smelt flow, and fewer upset conditions.
