  1. Boiler combustion is much more stable, improving char bed stability and smelt runoff.
  2. Simpler boiler operation reduces the need to balance the air system with dampers, as is often necessary with other air systems. 
  3. More stable combustion allows you to run with less excess air. 
  4. Better utilization of the furnace volume results in slower vertical flue gas velocities.
  5. Better heat transfer to the furnace walls results in lower flue gas temperatures at the entrance to the screens/superheaters. 
  6. Reduced carry over of liquor spray material makes it possible to reduce sootblowing consumption and to run longer between pluggage.
  7. Improved mixing, a hotter char bed, lower velocities and combustion staging result in improved NOx, SO2, TRS, CO and particulate emissions.
  8. The staging of airflow and improved mixing reduces the NOx.
  9. The hotter char bed releases more sodium fume that combines with the SO2 to form salt cake that is precipitated out.
