> The Port Damper Assembly (PDA) allows operators to reduce the total primary air mass while maintaining the pressure required to control the bed. Carryover is reduced, and the operators can rapidly reject char bed disturbances. Air can be moved higher in the boiler without sacrificing char bed stability.
> The Automatic Port Cleaner (APC) provides safe, consistent port cleaning to stabilize the air supply to the char bed. This provides control over the smelt drainage pathways and helps improve reduction efficiency.
> For boilers without an existing APC system a new pneumatic air header and control wiring will also be installed around the boiler.
